He's slowly gaining the primitive race called the Na’vi but at the same time he's also giving away many of their life styles to the government who wants to destroy the land the Na'vi live on. The King of the Na'vi declares Jake Sulley as one of them and a hunter. He comes to love the Na'vi along with the girl who has been teaching him everything he knew, Neytiri. They "lay" with each other and when he falls asleep he returns to his human form with the government. They plan to attach and he must find a way to stop the government from attaching. he returns as an Na'vi and tells the others but they can't believe what he was done to them and blame everything on him so he is casted out. He goes back... and you'll just have tosee the movie for yourself but it's a perfect example of the Hero's Journey.
