AVATAR

An Ex-marine named Jake Sulley was called to finish the work of his older brother who had died. At first he didn't want to do it but they he couldn't decline the offer to get his legs back. Jake Sulley had a body of an Avatar, to comunicate with the Na'vi and become part of their culture. They put him through many tests to see if he could survive and become a hunter as an Avatar. He's slowly gaining the primitive race called the Na’vi but at the same time he's also giving away many of their life styles to the government who wants to destroy the land the Na'vi live on. The King of the Na'vi declares Jake Sulley as one of them and a hunter. He comes to love the Na'vi along with the girl who has been teaching him everything he knew, Neytiri. They "lay" with each other and when he falls asleep he returns to his human form with the government. They plan to attach and he must find a way to stop the government from attaching. he returns as an Na'vi and tells the others but they can't believe what he was done to them and blame everything on him so he is casted out. He goes back... and you'll just have tosee the movie for yourself but it's a perfect example of the Hero's Journey.

A gift to give

About two years ago my mom took some friends and I to Salt Lake City for a service project. We helped organize donated clothes into sizes so they could easily be distributed to refugee families in the area. We spent about three hours organizing all the clothes with the help of about ten other people. Little by little people started to leave as we finished up the last few boxes. When there was nothing left to sort we asked if there was anything else we could do to help. The lady in charge mentioned there was not enough people delivering all these donations to the homes of the refugees. She kindly asked if we would be able to make a few drop offs. We happily agreed and loaded our car. We drove to the first home in a small apartment complex about two miles from the building. There we met a small family of four from Burma. This was their first home in twelve years! They had been living in a refugee camp.
If i could give a gift to the people on this earth, i would give every child a home. A home were they can feel safe in. A home that they can sleep in at night and be with their families. A home they can have happy memories in and a home with a loving mother and a loving father. Children these days take their home and their parents for granted and if they lost both of these things all at once, what an impact it would have on their lives. But the children that do not have these thing, and have gone through their lives without these two vital things that every child needs would do anything for a home and a mother and a father. Its what they wish for. To be adopted, to be found, and to just have any of the three.
My eighth grade year as well as my freshman year i was able to go to Mexico for a week during the summer. I went with my basketball team and during that week we visited many different orphanages as well as old folks homes, schools for the blind, juvenile places, and poor neighborhoods. We handed out toys for all the little children. At the orphanages they allowed us to hold the little children and the babies. These little kids aren't held often because if they were they would cry until someone picked them up and because they're aren't a lot of workers its not an option to hold the children. The kids reached up their little arms to be held and held them selves close to our body's. When it was time to put them down it was painful to hear them cry and not let go of you. All they wanted is to feel loved and to be held.
Every child deserves to be loved. I think it is wrong for a child to be left on the streets. To be homeless or to live without their mother are father and to be raised in an orphanage. If every child had a home they could add so much more to this world. Not for the bad but for the good. The things they could learn at school as well as in their home were as if they were in the streets or in an orphanage, the neglect and the loneliness they would feel; the need to rebel, those would all be erased if there wasn't any child to feel hatred for being in one of the worst situations any child would have to be in. No home, no mom and no dad.

LOVE n stuff?

The moon wains each night from fullness
his love unlike a moment lasting
our dates lapse into unsatisfied dullness
is this true love or simply passing?

Yesterday is like tomorrow
Its all the same since he's been gone.
our lips have parted, my heart in sorrow
each night I dream before the dawn.

I remember...

I remember my first time seeing snow, i ran outside with my bathing suit on to go play like i did in the rain... didn't really workout the same.
I remember the first time I switched classes in the 1st grade. The boy who had a crush on me told the teacher and I had to stay in for recess.
I remember the first time i ever learned to ski. Ever since then i've been able to do the splits.
I remember playing soccer when i was little. It was cold and raining so i decided to play volleyball so i wouldn't have to be in the cold.
I remember getting married in the third grade. We used a 25 cent ring. I think it was orange.
I remember going to Florida and snorkeling. I found a hundred dollar bill.
I remember getting suspended on the last day of school.
I remember my parents telling me Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy weren't real all at the same time. I died a little inside.
I remember getting stitches when i was four. I was jumping on the bed and the medal fan was on.
I remember when my dog died. I was fine the first 2 days then i broke down for two hours and was over it.
I remember when my little sisters bunny died. It drowned in our pond.... out of all ways to die.
I remember sneaking out to go to the three six mafia concert. Came home at 8 in the morning and told my mom i went out for a run.
